Finally the world recognize the batik is one of the heritage of mankind produced by the Indonesian people. Recognition and awards will be presented officially by the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Culture Organization (UNESCO).

"Confession later on September 28 and officially award on October 2 in Abu Dhabi," said Coordinating Minister for People's Welfare Aburizal Bakrie at Bogor Palace, Monday (7/9/2009).

According to him, it was given UNESCO recognition mainly because of an assessment of the diversity of batik motifs a meaningful philosophy of depth. In addition, the government and people of Indonesia are also assessed has taken various concrete steps to protect and preserve the cultural heritage that is falling down.

These developments on President Yudhoyono welcomed the news. As a token of appreciation for batik and better appreciation of UNESCO, President SBY asks all citizens wear batik on October 2, 2009.

"Others may claim batik, but the world knows that Indonesia's batik industry is," said Culture and Tourism Jero Wacik on the same occasion.
